I am doing my first lawn redo next week
the area is 5700 sq ft i'm looking at a
four inchs of coverage. I talked to a more
experinced landscaper and we came up with
75 yards of loam it sounds like alot, but
I guess not sence it is a good size area to
cover. I am a solo operator, but have foung someone
with a bobcat to move it around for me.
does this yardage sound about right.
Any other imput would also be great.
Thanks

5700sqft @ 4" cover = 69.67 yards
A lot depends if there has been low spots to fill to bring it up to a good final grade
I havnt seen it

The area I will be covering
does have alot of low spots
that will need extra loam to
bring to level.
Thanks for any input
for 4 inches coverage... 70 yards is right

Thats quite a bit for re-doing an existing lawn. An inch or two is more than plenty without creating a giant pitchers mound out of the lawn. Just enough to cover the old remnants has been my experience.
Adding 4"to a lawn? Are you taking any out? I have problems when someone says they are adding that much to a home. Are you going to change the grade that much so the down spouts might not direct the water away from the home? What other problems might you cause? I'd rethink you figures!

Im assuming he did a removal or it was a new construction project.
Like I indicated <I havnt seen it> but the yardage is right on the money for those specs asked.
Yes you will need to refigure if its an existing lawn there already regardless of low spots.

The lawn was all pretty much ripped up due
to a new well and some more drain pipes put
in. Right now there is not grass on the areas
that I wll be redoing and the grade is very unlevel.
Thanks for all the input so far
