Here we go.

This is my truck and my trailer 6 x 12 thats gonna be the tool to start my business very soon.

Planing to buy a 36" w/b and maybe a 48" or 52" hydro w/b.

Any comments on any brand?

I was wondering to have the quick 36 and a gravely 52".

Great evening to all.:cool2:

It's a start. Where in FL are you? As far as mowers go it depends on where your going to be mowing. If its in sub there are alot of Zero lot lines that you can barely fit a 21" mower through. There are gates. If you are in the 70's section of a town you might find that you will be taking a 36" in sideways. Thourouly think your process out. And look at all the houses with in say 30 min or your location. Good Luck@@@

As for me, I wouldn't put that you've been doing this for 7 years if you haven't.

I mean, why exactly did you quit the first time?

Topsites:

I'm a landscape designer. I had over 60 customers at a time back home in PR.

Landscaping is conducted differently over there. I switched fields to make more money in general construction / tile installation areas but was looking to return to my roots in landscaping when I move to NC. That's why I inquire about landscaping business as done over here, because in PR it's a different system.

Thanks for your reply.

Nice.. That should be all you need to get started. I have a 5x10. It's a little tight but I can get my z, my 33" and my 22" on it. Trimmers as well... The size of your lawns should determine the size of the mower you choose. In time, if you pick up lager lots, you can always get a bigger mower. I use eXmark. Love the cut and the support I have in my area. Good luck on the switch.

You attacked me first, then begged for an admin to 'ban' me. You're kidding, right? You do realize this is a message board, correct?

If they guy did it for seven years, then got out, then back in, should those seven years not count? Reading that post all I can see is the typical attitude of the posters around here towards others they don't know.

My uncle coached football for twenty years. He got out and went into administration. He got a call after five years to resurrect a program. When he went into the interview, do you think they didn't consider the 20 winning seasons he had before 'quitting'? I guess he shouldn't have counted those 174 wins and 20 years of experience.

Well your reading WAY to much into this. I was the first one with the ? on why he would just be getting a truck and asking about what equipment to buy. Then I looked at profile and it said seven yrs so he was probably just going off what I said. However, you are the one using uncalled names on here. Therefore I do thank you should be banned. First off you could have stated that his comment was unjust or uncalled for. But no U resorted to name calling. To me that is assurance of insecurity. Just calling it like I see it. Good Luck!!!

I have a 6x12 trailer with a Gravely 36 Pro Gear and a 48 Bunton Hydro and 21 inch mower. There's plenty of room on the trailer have one rack of hand tools on one side and two cycle equip. on the other. I also have a tongue box I made from ply wood with all the other stuff(gas cans, sprayer, etc.) 36 and 48 or 52 would be all you needed for mowing down here.

Green Boy, sounds good but I will make one suggestion. We started wit a 6x12 and very quicly out grew it. You may be fine for some time, but within one season the 6x12 was just a little to small for us. Wish you well with your new start in NC (however many years you have been doing it lol). Just kidding had to through that in there. Good luck!

Green Boy one, if you are moving to NC are you just looking for equipment now and buy when you get to NC. If I were you I would wait till the move so you can buy from someone locally so you can have dealer support. It might keep you from loosing another $8000.00 Find out what your market will bear in NC before you buy. Buying the trailer in FL could potentially help with the move and you could then sell and upgrade to a better bigger one or run that one and realize you saved the expense of a moving van to justify some of the expense. One more suggestion. If you know when you are moving I hope that you have already contacted the county for your license, called YP for your ads so that you hit with your feet running not waiting a whole yr for machines to start paying off. Good Luck and dont worry about how the thread was started, was not your fault. Some folks on LS ask short to the point questions and it's hard to read into them. Some folks on LS cant handle that and resort to name calling. But to each his own.

Trinity Lawn Care, thanks for you're replay and for you're suggestion, I'm gonna have it in mind. i was thinking to buy a 7 x 14 with tandem and electric brakes (is a used one) but was $1500.00 and came whit blower cage a trimer trap and the cooler stand but needs some TLC on the ramp.

I know that was a very good price, but because I'm moving and fixing some stuff on the home that im selling here in Florida I'm runing out of $$$$ to start on NC:dizzy: , so I decide to buy the 6x12 but maybe I do the change later on.

I allways appreciate any suggestion and coments that can help to do a better informed decision, thanks again.

I cannot believe you are still  about this. I moved on 2 days ago. Anytime someone resorts to name calling I see it as their insecurity. Furthermore, name calling only shows the level of education one might have. Just calling it like I see. So let's both show how grown up and professional we are and :walking: away. Good Luck in you business model and hope you have a great season!!

BTW: A tattle tale??? I will state that anyone who resorts to name calling should be BANNED.
