Triplett works fine on clover. It is what I mainly use. Confront worked faster, but I do not think it is labeled for residentials anymore.

Confront is outstanding for clover, and you are correct it is not labeled for residential any longer .

probably the toughest thing with clover is getting enough absorbtion to do the deed. clover and the other weed in it's family, like medic, have a very way surface that tends to shed your controls before it absorbs through the foliage. Add a surfactant(sticker) to your spray and you'll be amazed out how much better percentage kill you'll get.

Certainty with a surfactant is excellent. Little pricey though.

Three-way type products are the cheapest method as long as you use a surfactant. Horsepower, Speedzone or something containing triclopyr is better. The sulfronureas are very good but pricey.

If you are dealing with Bermudagrass, Sencor will absolutely smoke the clover.

90ml/1000 of mecoprop and .7ml/1000 of Dicamba will smoke clover better then any three way on the market.

Very important to do your math properly with the dicamba or it will in fact smoke everything.

A sticker is not required if proper nozzles are used. The idea is to use a fine misting nozzle, in my case an XR11005 and blanket the clover with as many droplets as possible.

Large flooding nozzles will in fact run off as previously discussed!

Sure. Try some Strike 3 mixed with a little Spotlight. It works wonders.

surfactant is a additive that makes the water and pesticide stick to and penetrate the leaf surface of the weed better. you can actually use dish washing soap if you don't want to buy surfactant. it will work just about as good, use 1-2 oz per gallon.

a surfactant is a chemical meant to help other chemicals bond or hold to a surface. When thinking of it on turf or other plant material, whether using herbicides, insecticides, etc., the usual idea is to hold in place for as long as possible. Some surfactant/stickers are little more than a no/low sudsing soap while others get more exotic to increase or decrease surface tension and the size of the droplet after it strikes the target. You'll find yourself making the choice mostly on what is available to you locally, labelled for your application. Rates will be found on the label of whatever you buy for what you are trying to do and what you are mixing with. follow them and off you go.

actually a surfactant releases surface tension
