how much to sale engine for

i have a 15hp kohler that is a year old that needs short blocked... i found a guy that wants it but i dono how much to sale it for, PLEASE give me an idea if you can....thank-you

Suggest pricing new engine - cost of short block, and then the general rule of thumb at one shop was to charge 1/2 cost of new. Hope that helps.

If that engine is one year old, take it back to the dealer and get a new one. There is a two year commercial warranty on Kohler. I don't understand what could happened to it? If you didn't do something foolish to void the warranty, you'll end up with a spare motor...worth much more than a hundred dollar bill. I see a price tag of $429.00 + tax, well worth grumbling to your deal about.
