Do any of you sub-contract out work such as fertilizing, very large tree trimming, pest control (for yards), and large yard removal. How do you charge you clients, a certain percentage above what the sub-contractor is charging you? Or is it better to refer the service company to your client and stay out of the middle. I have sub-contracted a few jobs with no problems (yet). Also what liability is there on my part if something happens?

If you sub the work out YOU are responsable for the out come. Also make sure to get a copy of there ins. or you will end up paying for them when it come ins. audit time.
If you sub the other contractor sould give you a price break for "getting" the work. This will be the mark up plus a few extra $$ that you will keep as profit. If you refer another company make sure they don't offer a service that your performing now or your leaving the door wide open to losing a customer.
