My Turf Tracer is leaking a very small amount of hydro oil out of the pump. There is a gasket between there. It's a small seapage. Needed to be repaired? It seaps about 1oz per week tops.

yes I would replace it, if it isnt to hard to do. If it is take it to a shop.

Well it's not going to get better or leak less :hammerhead: LOL, Just from a $ angle it would cost you less to have the pump fixed now then run the mower have the gasket completely blow out on you during summer cutting and ruin a lawn after it dumps all the oil and lock up the close to $400 pump:nono: . Hope this helps with your decision.

Thanks for the replies. Why I'm tempted to leave it alone is because I had this repaired on a different machine last year and it was good for a while then the slight seap started again. I've seen this on some other people's mowers as well. I don't think the gasket is broken. Is this common on certain hydro pumps?

on these hydro gear pumps, there are a couple of versions on the tt. if you have one with a black top (end cap) and a silver body, they almost never seal back up properly for a long time with a new gasket/seal kit. This is because the housing is one type of metal and the cap is another. two different heat expansion rates. If its a light seap, i would use as is until it gets worse and then replace the whole pump.

now if its an all silver top and pump housing, these react excellently to being rebuilt with new gasket/seal kit, so go ahead and reseal asap, so you dont run low on oil and damage it worse.
