Besides the 5" difference between a 21" and 26", can you really see a difference in time when you use the 26"?
What about weight?
How much do they go for?

Don't know about price.
The general consensus around here seems to be that it's too heavy and it's a POS that is unreliable, and NOT worth the extra 5 inches.

Seen a 26" snapper the other day at the dealer. Think it was 1100.00. Just a thought.

I thought so last year and bought a metro 26. It had many problems, cables wouldn't last and it didn't mulch well. It is heavy and it didn't have enough power to move itself up even a slight incline. I don't know if it was because of the engine hp or the tranny. My dealer took it back and gave me a credit. I demo'ed the snapper and didn't like it, nothing specific, just wasn't comfortable with it. I would like to have something in the range of the metro 26, but I'm waiting for others to buy first and report back. Some are buying the redesighed/imporved metro 26 so I'll wait to see what they say.

After playing with one at the dealer (demo unit), I'd say that the word "solid", as it applies to the Metro, means boat anchor.

saw and pushed around a metro 26 at the dealer...$1400, wiked heavy, bag is pretty small, and seems that it would be underpowered for the size and weight of it. Add more power, then it may be pretty decent when using with a larger WB as you can keep it on the trailer instead of in the back of a pickup.

first generation 26's DID have a lot of issues, and it weighs about 160lbs.
The New 26's still weigh the same but with a ton of improvements,
Better transmission with added shifter forks, better front wheel adjusters that wont bend, rear adjuster is imprioved as well( will not pop out of height setting) better handle and drive bail, better trans. cable (wont break like first ones did) bag is bigger than a 21" model, but in florida we dont bag so not an issue here.
you should really check one out and ask the dealer about the changes, its 100 times more durable than the old one.
