We have a couple of Tru Cut reel mowers. They seem to work well, and are pretty much the only option. The maintenance on them is very high, you have to keep the chains lubed or they break, etc.

We have several trucut reel mowers as well as trucut rotary mowers. Keeping the reel properly adjusted and sharp is time consuming and can be expensive. Lots of chains and sprokets to wear out. Their rotary mowers seem to be pretty tough, cut pretty well, etc..

I can attest to the durability of their reels.

Pictured is a 10 yr old 25" reel. Regular greasing, oil changes, blah, blah, blah...she aint purty no more, but she keeps on cutting!

A bit off topic, but...

I'm a big kid too, 6'2 230ish...it pulls me around just fine when I use it!
