different color of grass

My grass is coming in really well, the only problem is that some of it is really dark and some of it is really bright. Any ideas what can cause this?

If it looks striped, then it is probably poorly applied fertilizer. lightly refertilize the entire thing and this should cure it.

If the soil is not consistent, some spots will hold water better than others. This will give the turf different colors much as a low area has a different color than high areas in a lawn. PR

Did you seed and then get impatient that nothing was growing and seed some more? If so, did you use different cultivars or types of seed? (IE Ryegrass is generally lighter green than bluegrass.)

If that's not the case, like others said... either fertility of soil or PH would be likely suspects.
