I have a chance to buy a 2005 Laser Z demo with 5 hrs for $6,200. It is LZ20KC524AS model with 20 HP Kohler and 52" deck. Good deal? Will be registered as new with full 2 yr warranty. Is this enough engine for this unit?

i have a 60 cub tank with a 27 horse kohler and I think it is a little under powered. In my opinion i wouldn't think it would be enough engine but i have never operated a lazer

Under powered you need a 25 horse at the least.

Imo no way would I get that. Underpowered. I have a 19 hp lazer hp, 48 inch and that is underpowered imo.

I agree with the other guys...you need more HP for that rig.

I had a grasshopper with that engine and a 52" deck and it was adequate most of the time. No extra power and a little underpowered in the spring. If in doubt always go with more power.

Same here a 220 model bought brand new very under powered in spring grasses.

Thanks for the replys. Will pass on that unit. Makes you wonder why these companies even offer those underpowered combos.

Jesus I must have a super human 18hp Kohler then. My 48" lazer HP has the 18hp kohler and it has tons of power. It has more power than my Cub Tank M48 with 23hp Kawi and it now has 2,400 hours on it compared to the 55 hours on the Tanks 23 kawi.

For that matter I may take a video soon to demonstrate how much stronger our 18 kohler is compared to the 23 hp kawi.

They does this to remain competitive in the market my advice is look at the moter, pumps first.
