I would like to learn as much as I can about the industry so I will be ready for work next year and I was wondering what the best option is, on-campus education or online. Now the online education I can afford and I can get a career degree in about 6 months and the other would take at least 2 years but at least it would be hands on.

Which would you choose and why?

Hands On. Work for a company in the field, get dirty, make mistakes and ask questions. No better way in my opinion to learn.

Both-- Do as 29 says and also do the online for the book smarts

I chose the online route and got a degree in landscape design. I learned a lot but nothing can replace the hands on experience.

I got my degree from the School of Landscape Design, PCDI(Professional Career Development Institute). They send you all the supplies you need and as soon as you finish a complete lesson book, they send you the next. It's a very good course, if you are more into the design aspect of landscaping.
