Just starting out in lawn business and need to invest in a trailer. What size do you guys have? I am looking at an open trailer 6.5x14 that I will add the gas rack and trimmer rack to. Also the trailer will be used to haul 2 ATV's once in a while. Thanks for the help.

I would get a 7X16ft because you can never have enough room. The extra length will give you room to carry grass, mulch, etc. and more equipment as you grow.

i recommend an enclosed.......either way, the bigger you can afford without going crazy, say a 24' for example

Thank you for the responses. I am currently bidding on a 7x14 on Ebay so hopefully I will get that one. If not, there is an 18ft close to my house that has the gas can rack and trimmer rack already on it. I may try to go look at that Thursday to get an idea and possibly make an offer. I plan on putting a 48' mower, a smaller mower, gas cans, 1 or 2 barrels, backpack blower, etc... I am just starting out so I figured these were the basic pieces. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.:usflag:

Yup, I wound not go below a 16 footer because you are always going to need the room. TRUST ME:)

good point

as far as the size, i would get anything less than 7' IN WIDTH....i have a 52" z, small trim mower, and all the goodies (in a 6x12), and i feel CRAMPED...its an enclosed....for me the enclosed is perfect though (no storage space around here)...but if you have a place to put the stuff at night and on the weekends, I'd get the open trailer...IMO (not sure what thats worth), its ALOT easier to work with an open trailer...plus everybody can see your nice clean mower(s)!!:clapping:

The trailer will be towed with my 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. I will look more closely at a 14-16ft trailer with the racks already on it. This may be a dumb question, but can the racks (gas, trimmer) be added to any trailer or does the trailer have to be prepped with it from the factory? Thanks again for your help.

That truck will haul freight, and have no problem what-so ever pulling a 16 footer .Trimmer racks should be no problem adding to most trailers. Most trimmer rack's etc, you either weld them on, or drill holes and bolt them on.
