View Full Version : Could you suggest a good lawn edger?

Hi!

I would like a medium priced gas powered lawn edger, but I
don't want one with the saw-type blades. I would prefer one
that uses trimmer line.

You won't get a sclean a cut with the string type but you could add an Edgit attachment to a straight shaft trimmer. Raises price though. If you are very careful you can get a reasonably good kerf cut with a string trimmer but it tkaes practice and over time the width of the kerf will increase. If you do a lot of trimming a good commericial straight shaft is what you want. Echo, Sthil, Red Max something like that. The curved units in my opinion simply are underpowered, and since i'm tall feel awkward to use. Hope that helps.:waving:

Sthil FC 110 with a star blade ,low down grunt power, excellent edger.Powerful, good fuel consumption.
