I was parked in a church parking lot, I had a back pack blower, hand blower, and a trimmer stolen right out of my truck. This is the first time I have had anything stolen, I have been in the business for 3 yrs.

THIS IS A WARNING !!!!!!!! Keep an eye on your stuff, no matter where you are.

Maybe the thugs were on there way to repent, but changed their mind in the parking lot.

Or maybe someone didn't have any money to put in the offering basket. so they thought "Hey I can sell these, the lord won't mind ifI'm doing it for church.

Theft cost retailers 10s of billions of $$ per year(in which btw they pass the cost along to us) They steal in the midst of tight security. I don't see how anybody can sit their equipment out in the open on side of the road(or in any parking lot) and be supprised when somebody steals it:dizzy:

A few weeks ago i had a pole saw stolen from the side of my house while my wife was sitting on the porch 20 feet away. They were so high they didnt see her sitting there. My neighbor and i went on a 30 minute car chase until it started getting dangerous and innocent people were at risk. They stuck the chainsaw end through the sliding rear window of there ford ranger and im sure the girl who was sitting in the middle has some nice cuts on her face. I could see the saw keep hitting her in the face as they jumped curbs and drove across lawns. No tags on the truck but i remember the faces and the truck all too well.

Good thing you did not kill someone trying to save a pole saw???

OF all places, a CHURCH!!!

No doubt, that takes nerve but then a lot of criminals don't know about the law.

You guys, if you ever catch someone like that, the law in many states says you can convict this as a hate crime (most anything illegal happens on church / school properties can be construed as such) and hate crimes carry a much stiffer penalty.

As for me, I'd be all for it, hate crime whatever, I call it sacrilege lol but it's all the same, you just don't do that.

.
Actually most criminals know the law better than most everyone else and will work it to their advantage.

For that to work the crime has to be against the Church or school-- and even that it is hard to make stick that way.

i hate when people think they can take your equipment you worked hard for. i bet they followed you to your spot and waited for you to go to the back. thats what happened to me yesterday but i caught them before they could get anything. this was another lco eyeing my equipment.

sorry to hear about the theft. last piece of equipment my dad or i had stolen from us was a handheld blower about 3 years ago. ever since then, my stuff stays locked. i've gotten to be paranoid to the point where i will not work at a job site unless the equipment is all locked up. true, if someone really wants my stuff, they can find a way to get it but as i remember someone saying on here: "locking your equipment up won't stop a thief, but it will keep honest people honest"

I've been hit about 5 times in 3 years. 3 of these times it was just 1 or 2 gas cans full of gas (This was even before we hit 2.80 for gas, Id expect it now with gas 3.20). The other 2 times I had all 3 ( chain saw, back pack blower, string trimmer taken). I was lucky enought to get them back 2 weeks later (Police found them at the pawn shop) The second time they found them at the pawn shop and got the guy who stole them) Unfortunitly all 3 were damaged and cost me over 400 dollars in repairs and when in court the guy who stole them got off because of a court/Police notification problem. Both times I had stuff stolen at night from the trailer after having the lock cut.

Thats why i backed off. 600 bucks isnt worth a injury or a life (innocent or some crackheads looking for a few bucks). This town isnt that big. Ill see them again im sure (think i may have already..truck painted) Ill deal with it then.
