in my manual for my bobcat walk behind with 17h kawasaki motor it says every so many hours you need to clean the fuel sediment bowl. maybe a stupid question but where is that located??

Just unscrew the carb bowl from the carb. I believe that is what they are referring to.

Kawasaki states nothing in their periodic maintenance charts about a sediment bowl on their engines. It would be my guess one was installed by Bobcat and is probably screwed into the bottom of the fuel tank.

Check the lowest point (as water would flow) of the fuel tank as Mr Rob states. If you find anything removable from the tank, then you will have located the sediment bowl. If you don't see anything there, then follow the fuel line all the way back to the engine checking as you go. If one exists, you will recognize it. If nothing is in line, and it does have a carb (not EFI) then the sediment bowl will be built into the carb and most likely, where your float is.

I have the Kaw manual for a 19hp in pdf on my computer. Cant figure out how to cut and past it to show you but they are talking about the bowl that is on the bottom of the carburetor.

DJL50, I realize this is an old post, but where did you get the pdf file for your Kawasaki FH580V? I have the same engine in a John Deere.
