I am trying to get my name registered in new york. I can't find anywhere that tells me what to do to get myself registered and liscened. Any tips? I know i can just go to my local government office, but i kind of want to know what to expect so i can get a headstart. Thanks in advance

check the website of your county for registering a DBA (doing business as).

The county clerk will tell you, if the name is already taken.

Good luck

you do not need a license in OC you can get your DBA name at your county clerks office.

You can look up your county on the net, and usually find a link to check DBA's. I checked mine out before I applied. It saves a lot of time when you go to the clerks to get it. I was able to check locally, statewide, as well as nationally, to see if anyone else had the same name.

another question. Do we have to collect tax when we mow? We just do this part time, thanks.

O, you are asking for getting torn apart with questions about having to pay taxes...
