Hello all. I'm new to the forum so sorry if there is an obvious answer to this question. (and if there is, can you give it to me :) ) ?
I've got a John Deere HD75 walk behind that's got a broken hydro drive belt. I was planning on having this replaced at the dealer as soon as I got the machine ( I bought it used). Unfortunately with the thumbsticks locked in the neutral position, the machine still will not "roll". This is true with the "free wheeling valve handles" in the IN or OUT (freewheeling mode according to the manual) position.
I downloaded the service manual and it showed two possible fixes: a) the parking brake adjustment or b) the hydrostatic control adjustment.
With the thumbstick on the left side in the neutral position the wheel seems to be free (although it sort of "shudders" as it moves). To get the right wheel to feel equally free, it seems that I need to pull the hydro control lever almost all the way up into what would be the reverse position.
Does this sound like a simple fix? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
The guy I got the mower from is willing to split any repair costs, so if I could just get it on the trailer and to the dealer I would be in business. I am just afraid of forcing anything (and damaging the hydros) without more knowledge about the situation at hand.
Any help is appreciated.
