Today my stihl blower started shutting off every 2 or 3 min. while I was blowing. It is getting good spark, and my fuel is mixed right. It is about 5 years old, anyone have any ideas.

When is the last time you cleaned out the spark arrestor? (Muffler)

Spark arrestor out first.. Then is the shut down instant at full speed or does it slow down then die? An intermittent problem with on/off switch or wiring could cause shut down and that can be confirmed by disconnecting switch and checking wiring to see if insulation is off anywhere. A gas shortage could be dirty filter first then carb rebuilt lastly.

Since you posted no model I will guess this is a BR400 you may want to repl the horrible black fuel lines that Sthil used, they dry and crack and suck air
Repl. with yellow Tygon fuel line much better fuel line. Hope this helps:)

Thanks MM77 for the info.
I need to replace fuel lines in my old Husqui Happy Wacker, and I didn't know what was preferred.
I call it that because, even though I bought it used and it is about ten years old it just wacks along Happy as can be.
I will also need grommet for tank. Hope I can come up with it/them.
