How can I tell if a lawn has a fungus or if it is lacking water and how do I treat it if it has a fungus?

How can I tell if a lawn has a fungus or if it is lacking water and how do I treat it if it has a fungus?

If its fungus you will see alot of discolors on the blades of grass, like yellow, brown, an what not. If its dry it will be just brown like straw.... so i have been told ;)

Use a soil probe - it will tell you alot.....
