I'm new to this forum but have experience with "old iron" in the form of Allis Chalmers and Massey Ferguson tractors.

I'm working on a Scotts Mower (by John Deere) that's a tribute to Rube Goldberg when it comes to wiring. Right now I'm just trying to get the engine started.

It's a Kohler CV20S and though I can jump the starter, it doesn't fire.

I'm trying to understand the 4 wire pigtail from the engine. The colors are RED, GREEN, BLUE and WHITE.

Can anyone tell me where these go and what they do?

Below is the diagram, Trace the blue wire and see if it goes to the voltage regulator.
Make sure the white wire (kill lead to coils) is disconnected, There could be a safety switch problem with the tractor causing no spark.

Oh..... Welcome to Lawnsite
