Here are some pictures from yesterday of my truck, trailer, and equipment. Also, no making fun of the dumpsters, that save the gas of going to the landfill LOL. Although, everything else is fair game, so let the questions, comments, and jokes begin!

What I am (seriously) thinking about doing, is buying about 4 of them from the city, and take them all out myself and dump them, as the city has a bunch for sale becasue they switched to a different company to do the trash service. That way, I could take 2 with me each day i mow (hoping to be mowing 3 days a week next year).

That would save even more gas! Thats a good idea! -Mitch-

Yea, around here you just CANT get but mulching, at least on a full time basis. For one, it is kinda standard practice to bag clippings. And for two there is usually too much growth in a week to mulch effectevely.

No, I have been mowing since i was like 10 LOL. Although, i have just started expanding a lot this year, since i turned 16 this summer. I do mowing, very limited landscaping, and some small sod instalations.

Cans deffinately beat trying to scrape dried grass out of a pickup bed in the sun! And where do you store your equipment?

ALarsh

How much grass can you fit in there? Seems like they would fill up fast?

Just a question...I know that the ranger isn't 8ft wide...The trailer looks even, how can that be a 8x12?...It almost looks like a 7x12.

ALarsh
08-14-2006, 12:29 AM
Looks like a 5.5/6 X 12. Better go measure your trailer.

KS_Grasscutter

Ok, i hope i can get all the questions answered...
Anyway...
Ideal- I store my stuff in the garage here, or in a shed in the backyard. The truck and trailer are both kept on the street in front of the house.
Alarsh- I can get about 4 lawns in each in the summer, when they dont grow as fast. In the spring and fall I use the truckbed to be able to haul much more.
Stuffdeer-trailer is not even, but that sure would be nice LOL...almost took out a parked car with it today on a TINY road here in town
Alarsh- i am ALMOST positive that it is 8ft from the outside of one fender to the outside of the other...i am postive it is 12 ft long, and I think the inside is 77 inches, but i am not postive...and i am NOT going out in the rain at 12:30am JUST to measeure it, but will try to git 'r did first thing in the AM tomorrow!

Thanks for all the comments. I will TRY to get the actual width tomorrow. Like i said, I am ALMOST positive on the 8 ft.

You don't measure fender to fender....you measure side to side.

So ifs it 8 fr fender to fender then you acually only have a 6.5/12

Nice.. how do you like your jx75? are the height adjusters a pain on them too? i know on my 14sb they slip from time to time... and it gets real old.. real fast..

I agree w/ the trash cans, good idea, also love the Dixon

KS_Grasscutter
08-14-2006, 03:45 PM
Yea, i am pretty sure now that it is 6.5 inside. Thanks for teaching me the CORRECT way to measure a trailer LOL. Anyway...
Petr- my JX75 has the 2 point heigth adjuster, which is real neat. I have never had any problems at all with it.
Enforcer- yea, i like the dixon too...got 35 hrs. on it so far, and NO problems at all. Thanks for the comments everyone!

Do you have any stripe pics from the dixon? What type and size engine is on it and do you think it has enough power?

I have heard of and seen dixons advertised but I don't think they have any dealers in my area.

how does your truck do hauling the trailer? I was looking at getting a truck like that. How does it do on gas?

KS_Grasscutter
08-14-2006, 11:31 PM
JR- No stripe pictures...sorry. It has the 20hp B&S twin. Plenty of power for the 44 inch deck.
Regal- Pulls the trailer just fine. Last i figgured it got 14.45 mph, and that is with pulling the trailer in town, and on highway and in town without the trailer. I am POSITIVE that the truck is very capable of 15.5 or better, but my lead foot and somewhat high higway speeds dont help anything...

stuffdeer
08-14-2006, 11:45 PM
Wow..Thats not bad for that truck. Last I figured with my 5x10 behind the S-10, I was getting 21.

28 on the highway without a load...:) I love it!!

Thats cool I use a 2002 Ford Ranger also. Mines white with logo on both doors and on both sides of my trailor.

ALarsh

Is that the 4.0 in it?

I had the 4.0 and the best I saw was 19 highway doing 75... Very typical to get 11-13 in city during winter.

KS_Grasscutter
08-15-2006, 11:21 AM
Yea, it is the 4.0. My other Ranger (2wd) had the 3.0 flex fuel, but there is no where in town here to get the e85. So i got this truck with the 4.0, and they are talking about putting in pumps for the E 85 in town here now LOL.

ALarsh
08-15-2006, 11:56 AM
You get worse gas mileage with E85. Don't worry about it.

Why do you say that? I was getting 1-2 more mpg with the E85 in my 4 cylinder.

ALarsh
08-15-2006, 06:07 PM
Because it is true. I couldn't get #'s for the S-10 (because they don't make it anymore) and the Colorado doesn't have E-85.

This is what is says for the Suburban:
Regular Gas:
15 City / 20 Highway (4WD)

E-85:
11 City / 15 Highway (4WD)

Right off the chevy website.

Wow...I'm on an S-10 Forum, and everyone including me are reporting better mpg, and better performance.

And, I believe the Suburban has the V8 in it, Right?

ALarsh
08-15-2006, 06:37 PM
Yes, 5300 Vortec V8.

It is ironic though, seeing as how your stuff is infact (at least) as nice as mine...maybe nicer... Maybe you just need to borrow my camera again to post a pic. of your rig and all.

Jason Rose

LOL, well i'd hope my stuff is nicer! Iv'e got over $50,000 in equipment floating around here. (and my dixon is bigger than yours) wait, that sounds rather bad... LMAO!

Yeah I guess since my mower is half worn out now I do need to post some pics of it!

I like it a lot.

Never seen the dixon's around here.
