Who ever gives ya the best deal with the best service. Ford is on my sheet list right now. Dodge and GM have pulled themselves out of the gutter. We have a total Ford fleet right now, service trucks and rental fleet. Our service trucks arent holding up very well.

I've owned a few Ford trucks and liked them just fine. My current truck is a Chevy and I like it too. At the time I bought it the price was $3000 less than a comparable Ford. I don't have a problem with Dodge, but none of the local Dodge dealers had anything to offer a commercial buyer. You want a cowboy Cadillac loaded up with worthless bells and whistles, they had lots of those. I couldn't find a truck built for a working guy (plain Jane) on any of the local Dodge lots.

ford ford ford, "thats all I have to say about that":usflag: :usflag:
ive owned both fords and chevys throughout my life. ive had a lot better luck with fords than I have chevys for reliablity. So i would have to say ford which i currently own with zero problems. never owned a dodge or any foreign truck.

I've owned Chevy, Dodge and a ford pickup. The Ford was the best of the group.

don't even get me started

My dad's been a Ford salesman for about 20 years now, I'm 26 so most of my life has been around Ford trucks.
No surprise but I've never owned anything but a Ford!

Nothing but Nissan, Toyota, and 1979 Ford F150 FlatBed
Toyota makes the best truck to date, but the second best truck is Ford in my opinion (don't buy ford cars!). Never have good luck with Chevy and Dodge, they seem to be playing second fiddle no matter what. The resale value of Chevy and Dodge is horrible, loosing money like water.
You can't go wrong with either Toyota & Ford.

Toyota wishes they made a truck!

When toyota makes something I can put my 9' fisher on they will have a truck.

I have had Fords, Chevys and GMC.
Every automatic Ford I have had, has had transmission trouble at one time or another.
Chevys and GMC's are the same, both brands have been great trucks to me.
I even had a Toyota, and there quailty is crap. I will never own anything made by Toyota again. and the service required on the toyota is even worse.
Change plugs every 40k-50k miles, change there extended coolent every 30k miles, transmission fluid every 20k-25k miles, vavles need to be lashed every40k-50k miles, engine trouble, transimission trouble. I can really do without that kind of quailty!
I feel for the people who buy that toyota junk.

Two friends of mine work at diffrent Ford dealers and they said, buy a Dodge or a Chevy. Toyota makes a truck? to this day i never saw a Toyata pull a 16ft. trailer loaded. To me they are people who want a truck but don't need one.

any one who says toyota trucks are crap is just crazy! my first one lasted 23 yrs and 300,000 trouble free miles. the valves were only adjusted once. i did change the oil every 3k and trans fluid every 30,000 k but its easy on a toyota-they have a drain plug on the pan like every one else should. my 03 tundra hasnt been back to the dealer once since new. does the us build this kind of quality ? hell no!

I've owned a 1989 Ford Ranger and a 2000 Ford Ranger. I can''t really compare them to the real workin' trucks, but I will probably be sticking to Found On Road Dead trucks. One mechanic told me he hasn't seen a Dodge automatic tranny not fail, and they seem to be for sportin' around town more than work. I drove a 1999 and 2002 Ford F-250, and love the way they ride. I see Ford's trucks used for commercial use probably 10 to 1 when compared to Chevy, in my area.
I DON'T here about Chevy transmission porblems like I do of Dodge and sometimes Ford. It is often just the age of a truck, but I think Chevy has the best combo of engine and tranny life.

Ford. Its as simple as that. the mid 90's diesel one tons can still go head to head with 2006's for pulling capacity for my money.

6th year in my Fuso.
Service: Oil, brakes, tires, light bulbs.
Problems: Only related to aftermarket truck body.
No problems with Fuso portion.

the early 90,s chevys had their share of trans problems but they seem to have corrected them.

FORD FORD FORD!!! I HAVE A DODGE NOW AND WHILE IT LOOKS GOOD AND FUN TO DRIVE, IT GETS CRAP MILEAGE AND ITS BEEN FALLIN APART SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT! AND I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW! i test drove an 04 chevy duramax, pulled my trailer with it and laughed! my moms mercury mountaineer pulls my trailer better than that duramax! after i get this dodge paid down more, its goin to be sittin on the used lot at the ford dealer!
09-01-2006, 08:56 PM
well my 96 dodge was junk. worst mistake ever. my dads duramax was awsome. Then the water pump went and filled the motor with coolant. Be a long time before I see another bow tie, but damn it rode sweet. Love my ford and the other fords I had. 2 friends have had toyotas, both tundra's. They liked them. I had to drop a fork lift off at a sister dealership so they can move the 2 pallets of toyota parts that where being sent to where ever. I find that anyone who claims that import cars are the best thing since sliced bread just take so much crap from thier friends for not buying american that they have very very very short term memories when it comes to service.

Well I am a Ford guy and always have been. That is my pick. JMO though. I think that GM makes a good truck.
Personally I have not heard the best things about Dodge, but I have little personal experience to verify that.
Too bad Dodge has a stranglehold on the Cummins motor. Best diesel in a light pickup ever, with the 7.3 a close second.
