View Full Version : Can I wait to repair cottony blight affected turf?

Portions of my lawn have been affected by cottony blight. That part I'm sure about. I've applied a fungicide almost two weeks ago and another application is due in a few days. Do I have to make sure the fungus is completely gone before I repair the turf in September? Or will the cool weather to come take care of it? In Sept. I had planned to rake out the affected areas, put down topsoil, seed and fert., and top off with some Seed Aide. However, I'm not going to go to all that trouble if I'm going to end up with the same problem down the road.

I'm not familiar with cottony blight as a turf disease, is there another common name I might recognize?
