Decided to wash, wash and detail the trucks today and figured I should take some pictures while they looked clean.

1994 Toyota 4x4, 4cyl, 5spd, 136K miles next to the 2005 F350 Powerstroke Diesel, 4x4, 5spd auto, 25K miles.

jt, i know the feeling, they hadn't been done since march and they were showing it, I'm amazed at how well the old toyota still shines up for its age. It certainly has its share of battle scars, rust and dents.

I don't get why people put so much money onto their tailgates. Don't get me wrong I like the signage but why just on the tailgate? If you pull a trailer no one sees it. The only thing on my tailgates is phone # and website. Just my thoughts.

Stuffdeer, Nope I bought the ford before the Toyota actually, just got it in March. My timeline of vehicles is: 1979 Jeep CJ7, 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 (POS!), Ford F350 and then finally the Toyota this past March. Its great on gas (21.5mpg every week, no matter whats in it or how I drive it) and a hell of a lot easier to park around town or in most of my customers driveways than the big truck. Thanks for the kind words, I may not know everything about business, but I always try the most innovative approach I can think of to reach my goals.

Cleancut, I had more signage, however my town suggested I remove the signs from all but "one commercial vehicle" when parked at my house before I was fined. I have actually been roaming around without signs for the better part of this year, but since I waxed it I decided to put it back on. I had signs for the side as well but lost one. I was amazed last year by the number of comments I got from that rear sign on the truck. "oh i've seen your trucks around" when in reality I only had one truck (at the time). I do hate the fact that I have a few hundred dollars worth of signage sitting in my shop and not on my trailer and trucks but that is the price I pay for keeping stuff at home.

I like the Toyota. How well do you think it would pull 2500 lbs?

I like the Toyota. How well do you think it would pull 2500 lbs?Not well. I cannot pull my Gravely 260Z on my 6x12 with it. the 6cyl's would be able to do it, but not the little 4 banger.

Im not a fan of Compact trucks but that "Toy"ota looks good.:usflag:

BSDeality

the "Toy" has its place for my operation. I don't need to be driving a 8,000lb truck around with a chainsaw in the back or a mulch wheelbarrow. the small truck is quite nice for "light" work.

Nice trucks too. Those LEDs in the Ford, are they made by whelen? Are they bright enough? They are TIR6 by whelen. They are bright, you cannot look directly at them. they seem to grab people's attention pretty well too. Thinking about adding a small set of TIR3's or some flat ones onto the toyota too. I posted a video of the strobes in the truck and trailer section I believe.

Do you have any for the back? I have seen a couple guys with them cut into the toolbox, in the rear window, and also between the tailgate & rear bumper.

Just curious how long did it take to wash the yoyo and that monster next to it?

BSDeality

washing didn't take that long, it was the waxing and vacuuming, detailing, window washing and armor-alling that took the better part of 6 hours for the two of them.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I was actually just thinking of selling it this weekend. I put a plow on it and was thinking about upgrading to a V6 model. I'm still undecided but I got your email.

Nice to see the yo truck still kicking around. I just recently started my company and people laugh at me because I got a tacoma regular cab 4 cycl. five speed.

each truck has their own purpose. I use the toyota for errands, run-arounds, estimates, small jobs, an off-road wheel barrow, etc.

I noticed a big drop off in the jobs that I landed when I purchased my '05 when it was new. It's just too shiny and pretty looking, people think I'm overcharging and would decline bids. Now I take the toyota on nearly 100% of estimates and land more jobs.

ha, Yea I got an 05 tacoma and I hope that if i'm successful that it will end up being my errand truck and I can get a nice 350 deisel, with a v plow
