I'm not kidding guys.
I saw someone on here posted on how they would of liked to see how many miles they've driven there ZTRs, I Thought, Hmmmm....
I had an Extro Bike Spedo laying around, and decided to mount it on my ZTR.
Well here it is.
I really like how it turned out.

Yeah, an odometer keeps track of mileage. That is a really cool idea. What did you hook it up to on the machine? Did you have to calibrate it?

not real sure of the point to having a speedometer on a mower, if that is what it is. But if it is a odometer how did u calibrate it, or make it start keeping track of mileage??

Ok, It was acually easy tto calibrate it. When you first turn it on, it asks what size tires you have. So I put 18's, because that is the size of the Back tire.
I wired the magnet on the Axle coming out of the hydro gear, and the sesor right above it.
It automatically keeps track of all the milage
I didn't really do it for the Spedo, but I did do it to see how many miles I drive on the Z.

Hour meters are important for maint work. I think its cool how that works ok there. I would protect the wiring a bit better like with some flexible looms or something. The vibes may kill that like they did my hour meter.
I want a tach more than I want miles on my mower.

I'm pretty sure the odometer has been out for longer than anyone here has been alive, so good luck patenting it. But an excellent idea for a ZTR none the less. A Tach/Speed/Od combo would be real sweet on a mower.

What about heat/vibration/water? Not a bad idea... I might try it out...
some kubotas' have a tach, fuel guage, temp guage, and the hour meter.

Acually, More milage than I thought. I already have 5 miles on it.

that's interesting. i'm bringing a pedometer with me tomorrow to see how far i walk in a day. my wife walks at night and wonders why i don't feel like it :dizzy: i figure showing that to her will make her understand.

On first thought, that would help with figuring costs. On large properties, a larger mower would cut down on passes therefore reducing time spent etc...
Course all that is already known but, an odometer would be undeniable proof etc...

Thats what I need to do, especially on Fridays with my 3 acre yard and a million trees.
I must walk around in circles with the trimmer for hours until I finish:dizzy:
I like the odometer too I have always wondered how many miles I log in a day/week/month/year.
Mike,
Where did you pick up that brand speedometer?
