I threw several bags of cut grass from one of my customer's lawns into my compost pile. I know they treat their lawn with MSMA and God knows what else. Did I ruin the pile? What should I do? I noticed a slow-down afterwards. I have leaves, horse manure, and the grass in the pile. Thanks for your help.

Don't worry. MSMA does not carry over.

Leaves, horse manure, & grass clippings - sounds like great toppings for an organic pizza. LOL

Bagging the clippings??? Land-grant universities recommend against that, as it robs the lawn of natural nutrients. Tree leaves too - it's usually best to mulch them if one mows his lawn often enough.

As far as the horse apples -- great organic matter with very little odor.
