its a 61" encore with a 22hp kohler. 3200 hours, and he says its gently used. when i asked him how could it be gently used with that many hours and heres his response. also $4800 for it.:dizzy:
"It wasnt used comercialy as in mowing as a business and you cant tell me there isnt a diffrence between mowing your own property which you keep all the trash picked up and mowing others property which usaly is full of hazards also a person tends to take better care about something you own and have paid your own hard earned money for as opposed to someone who works for a mowing service who dosent know about the equipment or is to ignorant to care how they treat it. Thank you for your question"

He has a 5 acre yard. Let's say one cut per week it takes him 5 hours to cut that with that giant mower. That is 260 hours per year. So that is mower is 12 years old?

5 hours to cut 5 acres?
I don't think so...............

It was used commercially or he spent his life's spare time cutting the neighborhood's lawns.

He could have just left the key turned on a few times, thusly leaving the hour meter to keep running. Or for that matter, the hour meter could have just f@#ked up. I read another thread about this happening earlier today as ironic as it seems.

I will say this, I am not a big Kohler engine fan but My dad has a Bobcat ZTR with a 22hp engine. It has over 3500 hours on it stilll going strong on the original build.

Reguardless, That guy asking $4800 is OUTRAGEOUS to say the least. I think hell be lucky to get 1/2 of that. JMO

Here is the math........I estimated at two cuts per week (just in case he really liked mowing his lawn) for 8 months out of the year at 2 1/2 hours per cut........thats 160 hours per year.....times that and how old is the mower? 20 years old. So it must be a 1986 model, you think? I think the guy will be using it himself for another 20 years with that many hours and that price.

Really now, it shouldn't take that guy any more then 2.5 hours to cut his lawn. That comes out to less than 100 hours a year at 30 cuts. Even at 100 hours a year it would still take him 32 years to run those kinds of hours up. Somebody is lying about the use of the mower. Anyway, $4800 is way too much money for a Encore with 3200 hours on it. Heck, I only paid $4500 for a 60" Dixie Chopper with a 28 Kohler EFI and the mower only had 29 hours on it. Granted the guy just wanted to get rid of the mower since he decided that cutting grass for a living just wasn't his thing but still....
