Hey guys I am new here but I thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Weldon Carter (my username is the name of my small side business) I am a CCE Specialist at the largest volume CAT SSL dealer in the world (Holt CAT).

My main reason for registering here is to try to get some insight from the users of the machines, all brands, as to what works and what doesn't and to what's liked and what's not. I am very proud of the CAT CCE line and have tried to help CAT produce the best machine possible. I would love to answer any questions you guys have and look forward to reading the discussions here.

One more thing, wait untill you see the "C" model SSL/MTL line!:cool2:

Welcome aboard carterkraft
right now im looking at a 2005 236B series cat loader. I haven't gotten a chance to demo it. What is your opinion on it? anything to look out for?i do a lot of landscape installs.such as, finish grading, removing small trees and spreading topsoil. also, is there any major differences between cat and bobcat sjc controls ? thanks
input from anybody, would be appreciated

Welcome to LawnSite Weldon. I'm not sure what to ask first about the new "C" series of CAT SSL's & MTL's but if you could give me some general info about them it would be great because I am looking at the possible purchase of a Mini-X and maybe an SSL next year. I'm not sure what size I should be looking at but, if it helps I'm looking at a 304 for my mini so what would you suggest would be a good partner for a 304? and also what attachment's do you think would be worth getting for general landscape work?

Thanks
Rob

What do you think of CATs ZTS (zero tail swing) on the 308 & 314 models?? Does it really leave out alot of room in the cab? Around here it would be very useful since houses are soo close together but is it really worth it??

Thanks for the kind words.

I love the 236B, right power weight etc. It's a radial so the visibillity is good and is pretty much bullet proof machine. The Mitsu engine is my favorite and is a tough engine.

I am gonna have to look into the 308-314CR's .

As for the powerless heap I would love to see that machine. There is a couple of things that can happen to it that will leave it low on power and you will never suspect it.

Well tell my dealer....it only has 60 hrs on it and its been in the shop for a drive motor replacement, and a couple of other power related items, I've seen the warranty bills and they exceed 10K so far...

hello carter,

I have a 232B, it has already been replaced once by cat due to a loud humming/vibrating noise when we use tilt. Now with the new machine...the SAME THING. They said it is normal now, and does not have any negative effect on the machine. It was in the shop for a long while before they decided to give me a new machine, and I know they tried just about everything.

Any ideas?

And Welcome aboard... i think you are going to be a popular member here!

Tilt nois is almost always a one of the hyd tubes on the lift arms that is a little too close. It's sounds too simple but the vibration noise will sound like the pump is coming apart when it is really a resonanting tube on the lift arm, usually right beside the cab were it transitions from the side to the bottom of the arm.

to qps.

That is definantly your dealers fault. We would bring one in from another dealer for you. We constantly buy other dealers stock to sell when we have availability problems. Can't help you much on that.

What about your 257B is powerless? Engine, drive, loader?

It's my understanding that there are no new 304's with the angle blade in stock in the states...:dizzy:

There may not be any of those machines here, I am in Service so Sales numbers aren't my thing.

As for the low power 257, describe the problem?
