My Dad’s John Deere STX 38 (Model MOOSTXD214120) with a Kohler 12.5 (CV12.58) needs a new carburetor. The needle seat can’t be replaced on the Walbro carb that’s on it, and the dealer wants $125 for a new one. I thought I’d be able to find one on the web but am not having any success. The numbers on the carb are Walbro 1205327 LMK 230065. Anybody know where I might find one cheaper?

Get the spec number off your engine.
Go to www.kohlerplus.com and click enter as guest.
Find your model/spec and get the carb part number. That will be the Kohler number for the carb. May have better luck searcing with that.
I have just replaced a few carbs on 15HP kohlers recently...I wanna say they were in the $90-100 list range. It should be cheaper from a Kohler dealer than going to JD for it but it isnt going to be a whole bunch cheaper or anything.
