Boy I sure hope it drops. I could use the extra cash that I've been putting in the tank. I was thinking seriously of add a surcharge to my bills for the higher gas prices lately.

I have already added a 2 dollar surcharge to every residental account and was suprised that I didn't have one complaint. I assured everybody that once it went below $1.50 per gallon I would go back to my regular charge.

Blast it! Rising gas costs was such a convenient excuse for raising some of my ol' underpayers. Couldn't we have had a crisis for a couple more months? ;)

Price of gas today Exxon reg. $1.55 plus. $1.65 super $1.75.
Find an old VW and fix it up and drive it, if any body gives you grief just say you are recycling it.

I think the U.S is spoiled. I have a friend that has his roots in Nicaruga. He says that gas can get up to $10 or somthing like that. A lot of countries that don't pump oil have a lot higher prices then us. So I just don't think we should be complaning while there are poor people who have to pay these prices in some parts of the world.

What do you need gas for when you ride on the back of a cow? It's the countries fault gas is that high, not the U.S. I don't live in Nicaruga so I really don't care what they pay for gas, I live in the United States and proud of it. We may be spoiled but we got off our lazy a**es and made something out of the U.S., we don't have to have outsiders come in and feed us.

At least here in Frederick County, Maryland, gas prices have been at $1.64/gallon for the past several weeks. According to the Washington beltway bandits, OPEC is cutting production and we expect a price increase with in a few days. I think oil hit $30.00 on the market yesterday and going up.

OPEC has stablized production...it will neither go up or down until they meet again in July. Price is $24.8/b...the US limits are $22 - $28. The problem here in the US is not with OPEC is with lack of refineries...

Somtimes they can't help being poor its all luck what if you were born in some third world country? I bet you would hate the United States.

It's not the refineries. The problem is record profits for major oil companies. Exxon made 5.05billon profit last qtr. and 5.1 billon 4th qtr last year that was their record. Corporate greed! CEO's and COO's have too make millons and millons every year or they'll have to apply for welfare. How soon we forget the high heating bills of last winter and all along Exxon is making record profits off of the people who can afforded it the least. By the way oil barrel prices haven't varied by more than about $6.00 during all of this whole fiasco. No we can't blame OPEC for this one.

A quote from OPEC meeting:
<i>"The US has also unveiled its national energy strategy. In this regard, it is noteworthy that senior US officials have absolved OPEC of responsibility for high product prices. They recognize that the situation is due to a number of constraints including shortage of refinery capacity, which leads to higher refinery margins, increasingly stringent product specifications, transport problems such as inadequate pipeline infrastructure, and the policy of just-in-time stocks management."</i>
So refineries have been an issue for prices as well as greed.
