Poor lawn

I live in Dallas Tx. and just installed an irrigation system. Due to the severe drought and the system installation my lawn looks like I had a tractor pull on it. I have common Bermuda. What would be the best way to prepare for the spring, or is there any thing I can do right now? Also I have weed problems.

first of all if you just installed an irrigation system you probably have tracks in your yard which are most likely uneven, so I would suggest levelling out your yard, laying a preemergent fert. with winterizer for the winter and water a couple times a week. the clay dirt here in Dallas is not very forgiving so you have to put a little effort into your yard or else it will look horrible....anyways good luck
