View Full Version : Dixie Chopper Silver Eagle for consumer or pro?

A dealer near me has 3 silver eagles left over and wants to move them. He offered me the LT2500-50D for $5300. Thats a 50 inch deck w/a 25 horse Generac engine. The price seems right. He says just needs to move them and is pricing them $200 above his cost. Does anyone have any experiences with this mower, and is it DC's consumer line? Thanks.

Yes, it is DC's homeowner grade mower. However, some folks use them for comercial work, with mixed results from what I hear.

If you are dead set on a dixie chopper go for it,but never buy on price the worst thing in lawncare is buying on price buy a high end mower that will last for many seasons, the worst thing is buying something and not being happy with it, and you are stuck with all your money in three mowers that you can't sell.

No Dixie dealers around here either......stick with a major brand and pay a litlle more...you won't regret it.

I would never have a Generac engine..too hard to fix and find parts for.
