Looks good, what did you do for prep?

first one was pretty much dirt everywhere but the edges, so we took all the rest of the grass out, laid down 8 yards of topsoil, graded, rolled, graded again and rolled, then laid sod and rolled again.

second job we had to take out the existing lawn, put down 3 yards of topsoil, grade, roll, grade again and then we laid the sod and rolled.

Glad you removed the old lawn. I've seen a lot of people just rake it out and plop down new sod.

never seen that or heard of it. I dont see how sod can grow that way, and if it does, i bet weeds would eventoully penetrate through

thank you. weve done about 20 of these this season.

has anyone noticed when they do sod jobs and pay with a CC vs Check that the people who pay with CC's dont take as good care of their lawn as if they paid with a check. Im not saying this goes for everyone who uses a CC, but for quite a few ive noticed this.

On the first job, did you sod the whole front or just that center area. The coloring on the left side looks the same as in the center. It looks also like it has the roller markings as well.

not if you roundup the area first...

we have in the past had some real "budget" jobs for a contractor that did a lot of remodeling....

roundup, scalp mow, skim with topsoil to smooth out depressions and sod....

could not tell a difference from when we did all the normal prep...

the old sod, etc. will just decompose under the new sod and give the new roots a nice new "organic" layer to grow into
