Anybody tell me what the deal is with this lawn? Had awesome grass in the spring and know at the end of summer has lots of brown sections. ????

We just had 3 inches of rain come through last week so is it....insects or disease, what?

Please let me know as I can't put a finger on this one.

Grass can drown just like any other living thing. OR it could be disease or mold or one of a hundred different things. You could contact your local turfgrass extension agent or specialist from the university and have them tell you what happened. My quess from what I see in the news is too much water.

Here are some pictures of what I was talking about. Grubs maybe???

I'm fixing to aerate and seed at the end of September. Just applied herbicide and have to wait 3-4 weeks.

More than likely grass disease. Cut back on watering this should help clear it up in a week or so. You could also put down an insecticide just to be sure.

Looks like we have a fungus among us. :)

This was the worst brown patch year I've ever seen here in central NC since I started cuttin' grass. Looks similar but not too bad.

Good news fellas.

I put down a fungicide Clearys 3336 and followed up with some 10-10-10.

After which here in Southren Indiand we received 9 inches of rain this past weekend. Yeah!!! It's going to be a busy week for sure.

Thanks for the feedback and advice on this one.
