How do you prevent the reel from turning on a renovator, The bolts are very tight and just trying to get some tips from some previous owners. Thanks
u can get a 4'' c clamp and tightening it on one of the blades, rotate it to the top were it will stop to turn. another way is to get a pipe wrench on the shaft near the pulley but watch you don't crack the pulley...
that blade change job is a 2 hr. job and a pain in the ass. after doing it a few times you learn quickly on how deep to go when seeding. i just scratch the soil..

Try putting a 2 x 4 in the box so the blades bite into the wood. Just a short piece will do.

2x4 always worked for me. Sears makes a ratcheting box wrench which is perfect for this job. Definitely worth the few bucks they cost. And a good pair of mechanics gloves too. This is a nasty job and you WILL bark your knuckles at least once changing them.

When you tighten the bolts back on how tight should you go.
