Info on my company. I'm fully insured and im doing a small job. This is what I have to do with prices

Spread 4 yards of top soil $15 a yard, Delivery $35
Add 3 Drain tiles, total 28ft in length (down spout extensions with pop-ups)
$35 in materials

My desired hourly income= $55
Number of employees on job (plus me) 1
Wage $12 an hour
Hours in Labor 4.75
Expenses $130

Price: $448.25

What do you think too much? Should I lower my hourly income? I have almost no overhead. I own shovels and Wheel barrows. My overhead is really just insurance and Employees. What do you guys think? Thanks ahead of time. When I get more knowledge I promise to be on this site to help teach others.

Uhhhh need more info..how far do you have to move the 4yds soil? $15.00 a yard labor alone I assume?
How deep are you putting the tiles? Do you have to add drain rock around them? Dig the ditch for them?
Where are you getting the $130.00 for expenses? Is that your material $$ layout? Your gas and employee or what?

With your material prices, I'd price it out somewhat like this:

4 yards of topsoil installed for $50 a yard (Damn you have cheap topsoil, $30 a yard pays for just the soil here) = $200

Drain Tile price: $35
Labor: 4.75 manhours x 55 = $261

Total price: $461 + tax.

The 4.75 manhours is for moving the topsoil and installing the 3 drain tile. Does this change anything?

I can help you. But first, explain to me what the above quote means. I don't follow. Add 3 drain tiles? You're installing 3 tile drains? Is that it? Above ground or is this underground, as in a french drain. And what is meant by pop-ups?

Price it at $550.00 and I still don't understand all of what your saying.

Sounds like your materials are low cost. Why are you spreading soil?

Do you know how to install the drainage tile properly? If so then 55 is a fair price, if not then charge 55 for the 4.75 hours and spend a week learning how to properly install them.
