Need a little mow info.

MT- what year?
GHS or sider?
What engine?
What size deck?
Private owner or commercial?
How many owners?
Whay are they selling it?

Walkers hold value pretty well if it is in decent shape and the price you get depends on many variables.

After owning a few, it sounds like a good deal.

sounds like a good deal. i would take it. 900 hours is below average use for being a '97. It is a very good machine they cut nice and low maintenance and hold their value. Go for it! I have one myself and wouldn't hesitate to get another.

Around here it would probably be listed for 5000+. You don't see many being sold by private owners. The dealers get quite a few commercial trade ins from guys buying new every 1 or 2 years (they go for much more than 3600!)
Sounds like a potentially great deal.

Sounds like an ok deal but if it has a 25 Kohler in it look for something else. 97's+ 98's had a terrible track record for 25's, yes I had one.
One thing to consider is that if he dethatched with it and you live in a predominately sandy area then I would be very careful. Consider the effects of sand on the gearbox, deck and the blower. It is about time for it to go to lunch if it was played with hard. Take a look underneath and see if it was "sandblasted".
Other than the unknowns of previous commercial use, it seems like a good deal.
Good Luck.

I got a 96 Model T w a brand new 20HP twin cylinder Kohler. I went through it and found only paint and one belt that it needed. It has a 7.0 bushel pack, 48 tilt-up deck, good tires, everything works.

It has 1500 hours on it. The motor was replaced about a month ago, but the commercial owner wanted something faster. ?

I paid $3500 and thought that was a pretty good deal.

Sounds like a DEAL to me. I paid $3650.00 for a 1993 MT-54 w/SD deck last year. It was in good shape and only had 580 hours on her. 20 HP Kolher Command. So far that engine has run FLAWLESS and uses no oil. I say you are getting a GREAT DEAL.
Good Luck,
