Is there any liquid pesticide that you can spray over large areas to help reduce fire ants, I know it is not somthing that can be completely controlled.

topchoice should run anywhere from $ 150 to $ 175 per 50 lb bag. If you prefer liquid I would sugest using Wisdom TC it is a generic version of Talstar one which works very well on fire ants. The wisdom might be a cheaper choice also.

talstar wont end fire ant problems its not even in the same league as topchoice
all youll do is encourage satelliteing with pyrethroids.

Extinguish Fire Ant bait would give better control over a longer period of time and is the only bait labeled for pastures. Commercial Agi Pesticide people are using a herd spreader and ATV to spread it at a material cost of $ 10.00 per acre.

For fast knock down Pyethrin can be sprayed at 1 oz per thousand but requires a minim of 5 gallons of finish spray per to be effective. Pyethrin should cost about $ 13.00 per acre.

FWIW, I have purchased Topchoice numerous times without any need for a license or registration. Even though I did become certified for the product, none of the vendors seem to care in this area.
