fungus in mulch beds

first what is this? i know in yards when you see mushrooms it just means organic matter, debris, tree stump, etc. is decaying. is this the same thing just in a mulch bed. there definitely never was any tree in this spot.

second what can you do to get rid of it?

i hope these pictures are good enough for you to tell what it is. it is a tiny mushroom if the pics don't show it.

It is called bird's nest fungus. Sometimes tiny things the look like bird eggs appear in the tiny fungus cup or nest. Not sure of any control measures.
