So how do you guys think this Dakota will hold up in the lawn and landscape industry?

Very nice truck. I'd go with the Toro over the Bobcat, the turboforce cut is real nice, Id say almost the same as an ultra cut. Or try ant get an Exmark Turf Tracer they have an ultra cut deck and cut amazingly well. Check Out Til Darks striping pics in the 2006 stripe contest and you'll se what I mean.

your crazy, my little brother has the same truck but in a single cab, with the 4.7 v8 and it makes sick power,he pulls out 16 footdual axle trailer with 2 60 inch z's and has no problems at all, ample power. so dont worry about towing with it, it will handle it.

also we threw a small blizzard plow on it and plow all winter with it.

I have towed way more than I should with a Dakota and it held up just fine, but I would not do it day in and day out. If you think you are going to stay fairly small for a few years, it will be great for you.

no d0od im dead serious, this truck will pull just about anything you want it to pull, we loaned it to a buddy whos truck went into the shop and he has a big ass 16 foot equipment trailer, with 3 mowers on it, he has 2 60 inch exmark walkbehinds, and a 60 inch turn ranger, i'd prolly imagine the whole setup was around 4-5k pounds with the truck full as well, and it pulled it with absoultely no problems at all. the only thing you will nedd is a good tranny cooler, and your all set.

here is his truck.

THEGOLDPRO
10-01-2006, 05:15 PM
i believe its a a 7 foot, maybe alittle bigger, ill look into it, but throw alittle weight in the back, and it handles it perfect.

Tranny cooler is a must. I would even go for an oil cooler and maybe a tranny temp guage. Keep the tranny flushed regulary.

Keep the tranny flushed regulary.yeah all good ideas, my bro was gonna get the trans temp gauge, once we find a good one im sure he will buy it, he also wants the cooler with the big puller fan on it to help cool her down, anything you can do to keep the trans temp down the better.

A fan is another good suggestion. I never really needed on because I never towed with it on the highway, but I would have gotten one if I did a lot of highway driving. A must for everyday towing as well.

well the main thing would be for the plow as well. it will heat up real fast plowing, and it will greatly reduce your temps while plowing, and towing.
