Stihl Weed wacker line keeps jamming or snaping?

I use a Sthil weed wacker in good shape but the line keepd jamming
or snapping specially when I use it vertical to do edging.

Whan acn I be doing wrong?

What model and year is your Stihl unit? Could be that the line is improperly wound onto the spool. Could be it's overextended (too long). Could be that you're hitting the sidewalk or pavement which is causing the line to shear off. I have that problem here, but with stone instead of concrete.

You may be winding the string in the wrong direction.

If it's jamming, it is probably being twisted as it is being wound. If you cross the line at anytime, it will stop feeding when it reaches that point.
