cant get it up! The mower that is

I have an older 48 inch walk behind bobcat. I just recently replaced the motor and two belts under neath the mower. I now seem to have a problem getting up the smallest hills. any ideas? Is there something i can adjust or is my trans going to take a poop.

I also have a problem starting the mower from a cold start I have to spray gas or carb cleaner into it for it to start.

Is this unit the varidrive or 5 spd. ?

On the cold start, Make sure you have the cable adjusted so you are getting a fully closed choke butterfly/flap.

Need some model and serial numbers to go much further.....See the third thread from the top.

this is a variable speed mower

You may need to do some adjusting for the new belt. Also is the variable speed pulley working correclty or is it seized up? Are the wheel belts adjusted properly so they are not slipping?
