JD X300 vs Simplicity regent

There has been some discussion about these in the past but just wanted some thoughts on how the 2 compare.

JD x300 17 Hp 42 inch deck $2800

Simplicity regent 22 HP 44 inch deck $2400

Simplicity regent 18HP 38inch deck $1900


Both dealers are pretty good reps....on Jd's web-site they compare the x300 to Simplicity's Broadmoor line...is that more accurate?

Right now I am leaning toward the 44 inch regent unless someone can tell me why I should spend more for the Deere.

ok - I am down to the 44 inch deck or the 38 inch simplicity. ( I put a deposit down today) Has anybody used a bagger w/o the blower on the 44"? the rep said the 38 bagged better than the 44...so that is a bit of a concern. I also like that there is more overhang on the trim side on the 44. (easier to cut next to edges than the 38 inch).
I would be buying the standard bagger system.

Any feedback would be great.
