As far as usability, original cost, resale value, and cut, which deck is best for you and why? Where do they help or hurt you? The 72" takes so much more Hp than a 60" is it worth the trade off if you mow heavy grass. Why is it reported that a 72" doesn't have as good of a resale value?

I only own 60" mowers, but my next mower IF i buy new will be a 66". For me a 72" just isn't a versitile enough. We do anything from 1/3 props to 4acres +.

There are alot of days i feel that we could benefit from a bigger deck, but a 72" would be on the trailer while we do smaller lawns. I think the 66" would be just right.

I am using my first 66" and I really like it, I always thought 72" was a little much but I would like a little more than 60". If I ran a 72" for a while I may like it just as well I don't really know, but I do like the 66" a lot.

If I had my choice it would be a 66". Had Exmark had their crap together with the triton that is what I would have. I snaged a 6 0Ultra simply because it was a solid choice not because it was the optimum.

hello, 66 inch all the way many pro's to it. Many good points ,trailering and use on small and large jobs. Best part only "one" :clapping: mower not a 60 and 72. Lost production under 10 % to the larger deck. This would not concern me one bit. Please remenber most 72 have tunnel [high volume] decks with at least an engine of 1.3 ltrs diesel and may be a turbo.
Most main stream makers r not catching on !!!!!!!!:hammerhead: This is why 99% gasers r best suited to 66 and below sizes.

If you have large flat properties then I guess the larger the better, I use a 52" for 98% of my yards. Mostly 1/4 acre lots up to a 3 acre property, I find that in my business the bigger you go the more scalping you get and you can't get in to average yards. I guess it all boils down to what the use is. I would imagine a 72" mower would be harder to sale than a 52" for the reason I posted up above. Juts my .02 cents worth.

I demoed a Turf Tiger with a 61in deck but ended up getting the 52. We cut yard from 5,000 sft up to 5 acres. Even on the jobs that have acreage the 61 scalped too much. The 52 scalps very little on our accounts and for us is the perfect size. I would demo the mower on a few of your accounts before you make a decision.
