Concerning balancing a blade, where is the appropriate place to grind or compensate one side of a blade to retain it's balance? Say you checked a new blade that shows to be a bit out of balance. Physically where on the blade would you grind material off until proper balance was achieved (could be a used blade also)? In the case of a new blade, the cutting edge is already sharp, with the proper 30 degree angle so I assume we would not want to change this area. If this is addressed on your site please direct me to the proper document.

We recommend to still remove some from the cutting edge, but further in on the blade (leave the new tip alone). Keep in mind the tip does 95% of the cutting work. Think of a lawn mower blade as a circluar saw that only has 2 teeth. (the tips). If you prefer you can also remove material before the cutting edge starts on square stock of the blade. Steer clear of the mounting hole, as to not thin the material around it - if the blade has a very long cutting edge.
We do not want to shorten the blade by grinding the end, and don't want to damage the lift - so the cutting edge, or right as it starts is the best place for weight removal concerning balance.

Not familar with some terminalogy of blade make-up, however by the term 'square stock of the blade', I'm looking at the Magan-matic diagram from your web site (Mag-sharpeners_inst.pdf) page 28 (ie. Anatomy of a Lawn Mower Blade). Is this 'square stock' area you mentioned located on either side of the mounting hole, approximately where the letters A and B are, before the cutting and trailing edges begin?

Yes - if you follow "C" towards the mounting hole - I'm talking about the material between the mounting hole and where the cutting edge begins. Depending on your blade you may have lots of room or almost none.
