Gene from Griffin's Lawn care emailed me and asked if I could put up a picture of 2 old completely restored gas powered mowers on my website. I have them uploaded now with the specs. and a thumbnail picture to see a bigger one. This is at the bottom of my equipment page if anyone is interested in seeing the picture. I have written Gene to see if he knows any more information on these or if any of you have have any info on them, please post it, like when these things were built. Eric: The old mowers look good on your site.They were built around 1925 and do NOT run on gas, but run on kerosine. I'll check with the owner to see what else they will run on.The engins are called: Hit + Miss Engins.

I wonder if those old mowers would be faster than the 150hp Jet Powered Dixie in the picture above.

Neato mowers Eric. I also have an old Dunlap rotary mower with a &quot;The Clinton&quot; horizontal shaft engine on it. It drives the blade via a belt that twists 90 degrees. The deck is made of aluminum. The discharge chute is in the back of the mower making it extremely hazardous to operate. It is obviously a first generation rotary mower. Since it is made of aluminum it is probably pre-WWII as there was very little made of aluminum during the war.

Eric: I misunderstood the owner of the old mowers. The mowers do run on gas. It's his bigger engins that run on kerosine.<p>The mower on the left in the picture is a 1HP and the other is a 1 1/2HP.

Gene sent some additional information that looks like a copy of a copy of a sulky type riding device behind the old mower. <p>They call it a Detachable Riding Trailer that has a steel seat and steel wheels and there is also a side view of this mower.
