no this is not a stupid question. It may sound like it is, but it isnt. How do you guys mail your invoices? Do you go out and buy a ton of stamps or do you have a stamping machine at home.
When my mom was working she had a machine that stamped all her envelopes before she mailed them. She said it saved alot of time and saved the co. money. My main ? is price.

I buy 100 stamps at a time. No big deal.:)

The machines are from nothing to about $20 a month to rent, and you buy the postage. Its just a convinence, and it looks better.

I just buy stamps. At my old job we had one of those Pitney-Bowes machines that stamped everything...very very convenient but if all you're mailing out is standard 39 cent letters than you don't really save money...if you mail a lot of odd sized letters and normally guess as to the postage you waste a lot of postage and that's where the machine and scale save you money.

You could argue the time wasted going to buy stamps but I'm already at the PO checking my box so no extra time to buy stamps really.

At least here in virginia we can even mail-order our stamps at no extra cost.
The PO sends a simple cardboard pamphlet from time to time, details it out.
