Hey,

What is the max load I can haul with a 6 by 12 landscaping trailer with a single 3500 lb drop axle? This is being hauled by a 98 Dodge ram with 5.9 L V8magnum.

Cheers
Jeff

3,500 lbs, because that is all the trailer axle is rated to carry. You also have to subtract the weight of the trailer (empty) form the 3,500 lbs to get your maximum available capacity.

With a 6X12, I would say that you should be able to put about 2500 lbs of payload in that trailer and not exceed the 3500 lbs axle weight limit.

Ok Thanks. I was thinking 2500-2800. Im looking to tow a 463 bobcat which weighs in at 2700 lbs. Im not sure if Ill try it or not because its cuttin it pretty close.

i would not recomend trying to tow that bobcat on that trailer, does it have a ramp gate, what brand is the trailer, tells us a bit more.

Has a mesh gate with 5 solid metal braces. JDJ trailer. Picked up a ramrod today instead of the 463. I could of towed the 463 no problem but MTO (same as DOT just in Canada) would have been up my A$$ since I dont have proper weight registration. The ram rod is a little smaller stand on thing, weighs about 2200 lbs and it was a peice of cake.

You could have towed it..

I wouldn't do it on a regular basis but it's doable.

Ya I agree its doable but the MTO would have handed down a large fine had they pulled me over lol. No bothering me with the ramrod.
