HI; I'm still trying to compare some 48" ZTR and would like some of your opinions on these two. Gravely 148XDZ W/21hp Kawasaki for right at $7,000.00 and Scagg Tiger Cub 48" W/24hp Briggs ELS for right at $6,000.00
I'm not sure what the Scagg Tiger Cub sells for with the upgraded engines??
Also I can't find out on Gravely Web site the weight of the machine, any of you know?? Thanks: John

I'm pretty sure I can get this Gravely 148XDZ with 21hp Kaw. for $6,900.00
I know compared to the Hustler Z that is still kind of high. The Gravely looks to be built with better or at least bigger components for the size. I'm eyeing the Scag Tiger Cub but the grass/leaf collection system was quoted to me at $1,900.00 verses $1,700.00 for the Gravely. The Tiger Cub with Briggs ELS engine has regular air filter where as the Gravely has the big set-up found on the bigger machines. So I'm still looking at all of this pretty hard. Thanks for the info on the price with the 19 Kaw.

I just bought a Gravely 144z with the xforce deck & 21hp Kawi. It has been rock solid. I paid 5200 about 2 weeks ago.

The Scag Tiger Cub with the 19hp Kawasaki did include the heavy duty cannister air filter.

was that the 90th ann. edition? I almost bought that, but the I opted for the smalled deck for gates. I don't have the buget for a "gate" machine yet.

Thanks for all the price info so far....I wonder if the $6,900.00 for the 148XDZ is too high or about a common price for the XDZ. As for the 152Z for $5,400.00 I too wonder if that was the 90th anv. model?

man I wish that thing could fit through gates and that I never had to get off of it......

Hey what are some of the names of the shops up in Spring Hill that I could call for quotes and comparisons if I ever need them?

The way I got my 52" so cheap was from a shop up in Hudson or Spring Hill about 5-10 miles off I-75, they gave me the best quote and I had my local guy match it....

I bought a 148 at the end of this season and I love it. I was thinking about the scag also. The big 10.5 drive tires on the gravely give it great floatation. And the quality of gut is great. I also like how gravely makes one 48 and does it right.

That may have been Green Acres Tractor where I got mine. I was dealing with the owner Kirk, small shop huge selection, everything from Gravely, Dixie Chopper, scage, Sthil, Echo, even golf carts and front end loaders. Also Southern Turf and tractor in Land O' Lakes is a Gravely dealer.
