OK all, here is my FIRST attempt at FLYER DESIGN.
Please be gentle......
I already know the first thing everyone will start disagreeing about....There's no pricing on this flyer. Well, with only studying this website for the past 4-5 days, all the posts on flyers that I read showed me that about 75% of you do not believe in putting the price on the flyers...So that is what I will try FIRST!
So please take a look at it , tell me what corrections/changes need to be addressed..I'm LISTENING!
Thanks again in advance to all who respond!

I think it looks pretty damn good myself. Some of these folks here have that holier than thou attitude, so don't let that get you down, if you have any questions you feel free to e-mail me. I'll be glad to help any way I can.

I think the one lawn at a time comment is a winner. So many people become numbers everywhere they go, then, they hire a lawn service and become one of a 100 or more. I think it can frustrate SOME people. At the same time not everyone wants to be your buddy. I think most people just want to feel like you care about their lawn. Good flyer.

And only! Man you did a great job on that flyer. WHat program did you use if you don't mind me asking you.
Hey I noticed your from CT, you should see if you could free up the 13th of July, a couple of us guys are going to meet up in Southington.
Well anyway, good luck with the flyers. You have one of the best I've seen yet!

Nice job on the flier. I hope it brings you a ton of business. Hand out your flier several times per year so that your company name is recognized. I think it's wise for you not to include pricing in your advertisements. It just limits you. On more than one occasion, I have bid on a property and sold the homeowner more services than they expected to buy. Let your flier get you an opportunity to bid, and sell yourself to the best of your ability.
Good luck, I'm glad you're not advertising with that flier here in Charlotte, I'd be in trouble.

Thanks to all for the POSITIVE FEEDBACK!
The program I use is PRINTSHOP version 10--not to sure how much it costs because it came as a package deal with my new computer. The "FOX" was a freehand drawing that my friend drawed, then I took a digital pic. of it and from there changed it into a cartoon with this other software I got. A little touch up here and there...WALA! Instant logo!
Again thank you for all your HELP.
And thank you to the all the people who got this site up and running! A week ago I had NO DIRECTION. TODAY I'm much more directed on the way I want to go! Thanks!!!!!!!
NICE FOXXY LOOKING JOB...........
Now you need to put together a nice web page ........

Great flyer. People remember common names and images better than specific names. The fox logo will stick in peoples minds.
Doing your homework pays off, and it looks like you did yours here!

That looks good. It really stands out and gets your attention! I don't see any changes that would need to be made. I really liked the way you did Fox with the Fox head, good idea.:D

Let us know how potential customers respond to it. Nice job from my view.
Question: Why do you have a CT home improvement reg number for a mowing service?
XOFMOT
06-17-2001, 03:36 PM
Bill,
I got the CT REG # per the advice of my Attorney (who is also my cousin). For the minimal amount that it cost me, and since I have had the time in..I figured it could not hurt..Maybe people would feel a little bit more at ease when they see it.Thats the only reason, plus it may look a little bit more professional ;)

Hey i liked the flyer. Ever think of an ad on the Radio. Ive done the flyer thing. I never got much responce with flyers. But its good to try all angles. I hope it works better for you than it did me. My radio ad has increased my sales 36%. Wish i would have done this years ago. Its a bit pricy, but worth the money. Good luck

Great idea KIRBYSLAWN!!!!
I was also thinking about making up flyers for the different aspects of lawn care/maintenance as well. (spring clean ups, storm cleanups, fall clean ups, snow plowing....)
I think that it may trigger in more peoples heads when they see all the other stuff we do instead of just mowing lawns...heck a debris removal job may turn into your best weekly account! you never know!
Thanks for sharing your flyers!:D

Well everyone, Went out today and placed about 150 of my flyers within my local nieghborhood!(for the time being decided on attaching it to the door handle with a rubber band of the homes I visited) Now I'm waiting for the phone to ring!!! Tomorrow I will be out and about as well! Not going to stop!
Also going to talk to a local sign company tomorrow as well, see what they can do for me for some type of magnetic signs for the DOORS, BEDSIDE, TAILGATE areas (I would like to go with vinyl but this is the only truck I own, cost 30K, and its dual purpose--work/play).
Again..THANK YOU LAWNSITE.COM and all it's members who have helped to guide me in the right direction!!!

Well, Got about 300 flyers out there now, still NO responce:cry:
I'll be out and about again tomorrow hitting the streets!
If it matters: is it better to put flyers out in the morning or evening at prospective customers homes?
Thanks!

On second thought I thought I saw this flyer in a commercial, right after scooby doo! or was that little red riding hood and the three( i mean two) little lawn mowers.
